When one half of the Clipse wants to come to your school you let him. When he wants to talk about books you let him. This is a university right? The book is about Christianity? Fine but only because he's Malice. All that aside, Malice's lecture was thought-provoking and got a lot of SHHO members involved. It was so successful we did it again at least three other schools. Plus we got our pictures taken with him and his giant Re-Up Gang chain.
April 23.
After the success of all that, we asked ourselves, "Hey! Why don't we get Malice and Pusha T to play their first Clipse show and debunk all the rumors that they're broken up." So we did and the UVA SHHO kids held it down in Charlottesville at the Jefferson. Classy. It was a fun night to see brothers share the stage once again. Pusha makes the best faces! More to come from that...

Another fun shoot for Whoa this time in Richmond. We decided to pull out most of all the stops and left the rifles at home for the Fortune First music video. The guys in the photo above are actually all college graduates and from all over the East Coast. I told them all to dress in black and not smile. That one dude is just too happy. As he should be!

What did we do this trip to New York? Rob Stone of Cornerstone, hip hop legend photographer Jonathan Mannion, and Mel D Cole. I couldn't decide which picture to post so I'll just talk about Forrest's shoes. Those things are so shiny and Mannion digs them. They are blue like his backpack and hoodie. There's something about walking down the mean streets with him by your side. It's like that Hey Arnold episode where he pretended he was crazy to avoid all those bullies. Needless to say we did the robbing this time.

This was a photo from the award winning short Laila that I directed during my last days in college. The film was voted best movie and best director by the Richmond Gazzette Tumblr. I couldn't tell you what it was about but that set had the best mojitos. For those interested, the lighting set up above involves two kinoflows behind each actor and a 10k HMI wrapped in duvetyne pointing at the ground resulting in a fire that nearly burned down the mansion we were shooting in. Good thing VCU had insurance.
July 21.
There's not much to say about this photo. We got Nick F flicking off the camera and flexing on the left while surfing his Mac and then on the right is Brice also flexing on his Dell. Bella is in between them. Later Nick and I played ball with Paul and Arnold. We shared Kool Aid in the 100 degree weather and slip and slided across the court. I made at least one point.

Huzzah! I told these guys to pose and Plain Pat immediately went to this position. This was after the first and final show for Mr. Muthafuckin Exquire at Webster Hall in NY. This picture could be legendary one day. We will just have to wait and see if a certain someone signs a certain someone else with the help of a certain someone in this photo... Can you tell I'm getting tired of writing? Huzzah!

The next day we paid a visit to Dave's Warehouse in Chonatown, he's going to like the way you look. If you buy the clothes from his shop. Dave Ortiz is the founder and was the owner of DQM. This is Neil and I sitting listening to Dave bash hipsters. Outside is an old Asian dude and an old lambo owned by another random middle aged Asian dude. I don't remember much else other than Dave gave us free waters and was nice. I also was tempted to buy a bag from him but I didn't. Ah memories are all we have to live for.
August 7.
August is when you can start listening to Bon Iver albums all the way through. Above is Krystle, women's buyer and stylist at Need Supply Co. handing Ani shoes that probably cost $400 in back of a cemetery looking at the river. Could you tell we were shooting the lookbook and video? It took two days to finish shooting this project and was definitely the biggest production Need has ever done for a lookbook. This was the first real video they ever did and it turned out pretty well considering I just ripped Levi's. There I said it!
