2nd Runner Up: 2010 Vimeo Video

No this isn't a preview for The Sims 4, it's just tilt-shift. Tilt-shift can make you boring, normal people look pretty cool. Despite looking like stop motion action figures moving around, it let's the viewer see what it's like to be God. Kind of.

This is The Sandpit by Sam O'Hare.

Christmas Song.

So you might have seen the album art earlier and maybe have even heard the song on the ACP Tumblr but here it is making its appearance on theworstkids. I worked a month before Christmas to get this song in the works. It features a few rappers from Richmond that my girlfriend and I have all worked with. I called in a few favors and got Corey Smith, Jayo P, and Millz to spit. But big thanks to Nickelus F taking time out from his new project and family to lend a verse. So check out the song from the best boyfriend in the world to the best girl in the universe.

Runner Up: 2010 Vimeo Video

I'm sure a lot of you might have seen this but here it is again. This is the first time I've seen Twixtor used correctly and to think it was only shot on a DSLR. Pretty cool. Check out the first video that started it all after the jump featuring my man Niklas Aman.

Vimeo Video of 2010.

My old blog had the advent of what I liked to call Friday's Vimeo Video. It also became Monday's Vimeo Video and even Saturday's Vimeo Video. Whatever day it was, if there was a cool Vimeo Video, I'd post it. The best one I recall this year has to be Nuit Blanche by Spy Films. I'd also like the dedicate this to the love of my life, Rebecca Rice. I don't care what you suckers say, I'm bringing emotionally secure males back.

Anyways, check out the Making Of after the break.

Tight.

The other morning Arnold and I went out and braced the cold to visit a new friend. He picked me up and we drove a few blocks out down Boulevard and arrived at our destination. I must be leading up to something right? You've probably seen pictures of them and maybe have even held one, but what's to come is a Big Secret. Kind of.

The Light.

Even though no one will believe me, I'm not going to lie. There isn't a date but there is a timeframe. Corey Smith's debut solo mixtape will drop before the end of the world. Pretty much everything is ready. Artwork. Videos. Photos. The Co-sign. All but the final mix. So in the meantime, here's a still from The Light music video. See you later!

2010 In Film: Part III.

This is the last part of 2010 in Film and I'm going to end it with a bang. And when I say 'bang' I mean movies that I haven't seen. Let's begin! Black Swan. Where should I start. I've only heard good things about this movie: Aronofsky, Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis Sex Scene, and "It's a good movie." I'll get to it one day. Hell, I've only seen 'Pi', so I have a pretty long way to go chronologically. Someone told me it was about ballet or something. I guess I'll figure out.

Star Wars. The Godfather. Lord of the Rings. Harry Potter. What do these series all have in common? You guessed it. I haven't seen any of them. That means I definitely haven't dressed up as a wizard, who for some reason just looks like a private school student, and attended a midnight opening. From what I can tell from the clips and trailers I have seen is that there is a nerdy dude with glasses who can't really act well. There's also this redheaded kid and a girl who grew up to be the crushes of a lot of dudes on Tumblr. I ask myself, what happened if she grew up and was butt ugly? No one knows. That is Harry Potter for me. The end. Snape kills Dumbledore though! Whatever that means...

Pizza.

I know this isn't Tumblr, but this was too good to not make it on this blog. The days of pizza in my life have come and gone, and though I am sad to see it go, I am also happy like a father seeing his first daughter walk away into college life. And though I am happy to see her go on to better things, I am also sad to know that many boys will chase after her. That's why I am training her to be a little heartbreaker. My point here is that I used to be in a club. It wasn't prestigious, it wasn't regal. But it sure was tasty. For the past two years of my life, every Wednesday at 12:55 PM I would attend The Wednesday Morning Pizza Party. Unfortunately, the closing of the local Little Caeser's also meant the end of the PP. So this one goes out to Nick, David, Gerry, Ian, and hell even Zach! Founding members of the Pizza Party. CUT MY LIFE INTO PIZZA! THIS IS MY PLASTIC FORK!

2010 In Film: Part II.

Ah, the buddy film. A classic in the Hollywood subgenre. Due Date follows its brothers in the new bromance sub-subgenre of fine American Cinema. But wait, there's more! It's a road film too! Can this get any better? It definitely can, but unfortunately there are no heists in it. This film follows the story of two unlikely friends Zach Glaifianakis and Robert Downey Jr as they travel across America in search of motorcycles, great tasting wine, corporate safety, mission from God, tiny hamburgers, deliver a suitcase filled with money, Chelsea Clinton, autistic inheritance, his wife in labor. (Catch all those references?) The formula was there and thanks to the acquired taste of Galifianakis, the details were there too. I give it a 3 thehangoverwasbetters.

Ah, another film similar to that of Prince of Persia. And no I'm not talking about the black kid not being Asian, the original dude wasn't either was he? I'm talking about the maybe not so obvious fact that Karate is a Japanese martial art! Even Jackie Chan said he was teaching him kung-fu. But, I can ignore that just because Jackie Chan is in it and it brought an Asian culture to American theaters. Even thought it was extremely stereotypical, I saw some truth in those b-roll shots that the second unit couldn't set up and fake.

This modern Karate Kid starred Will Smith's son and awed black kids everywhere to try to kick really, really high. Until of course they got made fun of by the other kids in the neighborhood who couldn't afford to go to the movie. The movie was pretty safe up until the final fight scene where they pulled a Star Trek, blinded us with lens flares and promoted the actor in Cloverfield as camera operator. I thought I was going to vomit until the fight ended just in the nick of time. I give this movie one whereischristuckerwhenyouneedhim?

More after the break.

2010 In Film: Part I.

Is it that time of year already? In the following days I'll be posting up everybody's favorite lists and recaps of year that was. Tonight, movies! Instead of copping out last year and just saying Hurt Locker was the only movie worth being on my Top 5 list, I'm just going to do a recap of movies in 2010 this time because I honestly didn't go out to the theatre much. Now I haven't seen all of these movies and by no means are these the best films of the year.If you want that watch the Oscars. (That was a joke) But truthfully the movies I view are far too obscure and cool for the nearly too obscure and cool as me crowd that this blog caters too.

The term "long awaited Scorcese film" gets thrown around quite often these days in the film industry. That's why I'll just introduce this movie as simply, Shutter Island. I popped this in one day during lunch and sat through it even though it had been spoiled for me a few weeks beforehand. The movie centers around a Leonardo DiCaprio on an island filled with crazy people. Through the film, he cries a lot and sees creepy people and even a lady covered in blood! It was a decent movie in the same vein of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, did I just ruin it for you? Sorry. I gave this movie 87 iPod Touches.

More after the jump.

Gone Fishing.

There's nothing like leaving the office, silencing your phone and watching the most graceful sport, with just enough testosterone, that is Hockey. Capitals win 5 to 1 against the Devils.

Smithfield.

I don't know what's worse. Knowing that animals are treated this way or knowing that none of you will do anything about it. Now I will be the very first to admit I can be a hypocrite. I eat meat and I enjoy it. Maybe it is something in the human condition that makes most of us such apathetic beings but eventually it needs to be stopped. So someone else stop it, I'm going to go eat some bacon.

However we here at theworstkids have some sense of right and wrong. That is why we are announcing the cancellation of the Smithfield x TWK signature bacon. Some say that taking care of these pigs in a "humane" way before slaughtering them and serving them to our children may be illogical. (See Spock in Star Trek) I say, if we're going to die someday, we better live a hell of a life. And this just in, we will die one day, so live a hell of a life. If not, you're just as dead as these pigs. These delicious, delicious pigs.

Tron Punks.

If you needed a reason to watch the new Tron movie here it is. Daft Punk will be playing throughout the whole movie. Awesome right?!

4'33"

There is no such thing as an empty space or an empty time. There is always something to see, something to hear. In fact, try as we may to make a silence, we cannot.

A Sonic Soul.

The man behind the beat in Richmond, VA goes by the name of 0hbliv. (Pictured above, left.) SHHO along with myself have been following him, as well as a number of other influential Richmonders, around for quite some time now. In association with the Organization, 0hbliv recently dropped a beat tape entitled Soulphonic. Which I'll post up right after this post so I seem busier.

For a better write-up, I'll leave that to someone who writes better. For more pictures, just jump.

Yo Ayo.

The other night I shot a video for Norfolk singer/rapper S.K. for his song Yo Ayo. The rain was against us so we had to act fast and ended up shooting at unexpected locations. More on this later.

I was happy to see one of the dancers wearing an SHHO pin on his snapback. Upon asking him where he had gotten it, he told me he was the VP of the ODU Chapter. Small world.

Some more pictures after the break.

Staples.

Everybody seems to be doing it now. Here's my go at it. SHHO got jeffstaple to give a lecture a few months ago at the VCU Brandcenter. That's pretty much all I got. Better just check what he had to say here and the hypebeast post here. I'm not too good at this blogging thing am I?

Big Sean and Mac Miller brought it to the first concert at Charlottesvile, VA. Shout out to my new C-Ville fam.

Check out more photos of the G.O.O.D. K.I.D.S. after the jump.

Sick Society.

We've had a few questions about our last post on what kind of shirts some of the folks were wearing. Although they haven't officially launched as a clothing company, The Sick Society provided the apparel for that evening. They're in the process of renovating their website but you should see more of them soon. The graphics are were designed by our friends over at A College Project.

A few more shirts after the break.

Da Man Vs The Man.

The Worst Kids in collaboration with A College Project finished up the music video for good friend Jayo P. other day. Jayo is a rapper from the ATL who now resides in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Now tell me you can't see this on the radio.

The video was shot at the a skateshop in Petersburg called the Pizza Shop.

The Corey Smith.

Met up with my buddy Corey Smith the other night. Not to be confused with the white musician, Corey Smith or the football player born in Richmond, VA under the same name, Corey Smith the Black Rapper, which I will now continue to refer as, took me out to a nice, Southern dinner at Croaker's Spot. This is where I'm tempted to change the title of this post to Croaker's Spot and forget all about CSTBR but I digress.

Corey's mixtape, The Definition, is dropping in a minute and is receiving its final touches. Check it out when it does.

More after the break.

Need Supply Co.

I ended up at Need Supply yesterday to finish up some video work for their website. They recently moved to the end of the block in Carytown and opened up their new doors this past weekend. Now Richmond is no LA, SF or NY. There aren't any flagship stores of any of my favorite brands. There isn't really a place you can walk in, hangout and be apart of their identity. That's why it always amazes me when I walk in to Need. For over the past decade, Need Supply has slowly been rising to the top. It's like the reverse of a boiled frog.

They carry some of the best brands and definitely the best denim around. Their new space is, well more spacious and gives you a lot more room to breathe after coming to the realization, "I wish I was more rich so I can buy more clothes." So if you're ever in these neck of the woods, you should definitely stop by and give them money, you'll get something nice in return.

More pics after the jump.

Waken Baken.

I recently got a chance to photograph Wiz Khalifa before he got busted for a bus full of weed. Even though catching the show at a theatre, ballet venue wasn't the best, the performances made up for it. Big K.R.I.T. also Touched Down and I'm proud to say he's one of the nicest dudes I've met.

Shout out to Creative Nation for throwing the show as well as the homie Nickelus F for opening up.

Some more pictures after the jump.

Chasing Forever.

Found this on my desk today. This is one of the first drafts of the SHHO Brand Book. Most photography was done by theworstkids. You might be able to find it in specific retail stores in New York City sometime in the near future. Wink wink. For now peep out some pages after the jump.

SO: Creative Nation

Shout Out to Creative Nation.

Now everyone knows we're not one for self-promotion, but Creative Nation is one of the premiere promoters in the Richmond area. There's at least four couples having sex on the dance floor each night. If you ain't one of them, you can at least be one of the twenty sweaty dudes hovered around them.

Damn Krit and his photo bombs! Big K.R.I.T. is not directly involved with Creative Nation. Although we will have pictures from the Wiz and Krit show up shortly. In the meantime. Bottoms up!

R&R.

We stopped by the office and warehouse of the RP55 Group recently in Virginia Beach, VA. This place is the home of T.I.'s Akoo Clothing, Clipse's Play Cloths as well as many other clothing brands. We can't say what we were doing here but we can give you a little tour.

This is Ralph Reynolds, one of the co-founders of RP55. He wanted to get away from NYC and came down to the beach with 47 cents in his pocket. He ended up being one of the biggest hip hop moguls in the urban street wear game. Don't get them confused with Supreme or some vague Japanese brand that overcharges for a button-up. RP55 is straight business.

A few more pics after the jump.

Jeff Staple x New York Fried Chicken.

Sat down with Jeff Staple and the cats over at SHHO to talk about the dogs in New York and the rest of the world. Jeff's going to be one of the first folks featured in an upcoming, local publication in Richmond, VA. More to come. Stay tuned. And also welcome back.
