The KDU.

Our first official stop in New York was at the headquarters of the Keystone Design Union in Brooklyn. It is a Design & Communication Agency that has over 1,000 members in more than 80 countries. The KDU has worked with Hennessy, Diesel, Reebok, and tons more. It's basically a group of smart and creative friends that work together. A Justice League if you will.

Jared greeted us at the door and gave the rundown of the facility as well as the history and future of the KDU. Don't get it twisted, he's not just a tour guide. Jared Liner has been the lead designer for several clothing brands including Recon, Nort and Subware. In short, his talent and age ratio is better than your's ever will be.

Here's look at the showroom.

Would I wear a Hennessy varsity? Maybe not. Would I like to own it? Definitely. Do I like to as myself questions and then answer them even though I already know the answer because I am myself? I think so...

After some renovation and the inclusion of an in-house cut and sew production room, the studio/office will soon be a one stop shop for everything KDU needs.

Here's the man partly behind it all. Co-Founder and President of KDU, David Gensler. You might have heard a few things about this man. A notorious, arrogant jerk? Or pure genius. After speaking with him I think I'm able to say he's a little bit of both as well as a lot of other things. He's the type of guy that'll talk shit about your heroes and then even have you convinced to bow down before him just to eventually say that you shouldn't buy into everything you hear. All in all a smart guy who has money and is funny.

This is Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic. Don't worry, he's the kind of guy that can actually carry a name like that. You can just call him Lex. He's one of the partners at KDU as well as their Creative Director. He also directs and designs for SVSV, a truly refreshing, awesome brand.
